James Shackelford is the chief executive officer of Lifelong. As CEO, Shackelford leads Lifelong’s mission to make health and food accessible and oversees the agency’s programs, including food & nutrition, aging & disability, housing, and HIV support.
Before joining Lifelong, Shackelford led global public information at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, a leading global philanthropic organization advancing AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and advocacy that has raised nearly $950 million in support of its programs.
Mr. Shackelford brings over 25 years of nonprofit, corporate, and consulting experience across fundraising, donor engagement, growth, and senior leadership.
James currently serves on the board of directors of Seattle Pride, the Haitian Global Health Alliance, and the Town Hall Theater, a historic venue in New York’s Times Square, founded in 1921 by suffragists.
