James Shackelford is the chief executive officer of Lifelong. As CEO, Shackelford leads Lifelong’s mission to make health and food accessible and oversees the agency’s programs, which include food & nutrition, aging & disability, housing, and HIV care/prevention.
Mr. Shackelford brings over 25 years of nonprofit, corporate, and consulting experience across development, growth, senior leadership, operations, and policy/advocacy. Before joining Lifelong, he held global roles at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research and Aon, and founded a consulting firm, supporting the growth and awareness of some of the world’s most recognizable brands, including AARP, AT&T, Be The Match, Sam’s Club, UNICEF, Walmart, and Westinghouse.
Shackelford currently serves on the advisory board of the Food Is Medicine Coalition and the board of directors of Seattle Pride, the Haitian Global Health Alliance, and the Town Hall Theater, a historic venue in New York’s Times Square, founded in 1921 by suffragists.
